Social Physics: How Social Networks Can Make Us Smarter

Author Alex Pentland is a fountain of brilliant information for anyone that works in marketing or consumer research. He is a professor at MIT and shares so much of his research publicly, you don't need to be enrolled in MIT to benefit from his teachings.

This book has its own twitter https://twitter.com/social_physics

Pentland and his teams have found that they can study patterns of information exchange in a social network without any knowledge of the actual content of the information and predict with stunning accuracy how productive and effective that network is, whether it’s a business or an entire city.

I came across this book as part of my deep dive into behavioral economics. Understanding how people share information and the performance of teams is explored in great detail.
